Dear New Mexicans,

New Mexico public schools have been consistently ranked last in the nation for years. Recently, the NM Public Education Department released their yearly school report cards and the results are shockingly bad.

Please scroll below for info about:

  • Academic proficiencies for high schools in Albuquerque and Las Cruces

  • Where you can see school report cards for all schools in New Mexico

  • A mother speaks out about her child being exposed to age-inappropriate content in a NM school

  • Resources for parents

Academic Proficiencies for Albuquerque and Las Cruces High Schools

Below are graphics showing the math and reading scores for several high schools in Las Cruces and Albuquerque.  For instance, Oñate High School (now renamed Organ Mountain High School) in Las Cruces has math proficiency of 6% and reading proficiency of 32%. That means that 94% of students CANNOT DO MATH at grade level and 68% of students CANNOT READ read at grade level!

At Del Norte High School in Albuquerque, only 6% of students are proficient in math and only 28% of students are proficient in reading.

Even if you have no kids or grandkids, think about what this means for those kids who will eventually be measuring your medications, selling your house, installing your sprinkler system, fighting your fires, ️etc.

Where You Can See Report Cards for All NM Schools

This website has proficiency scores for all NM public schools.

Statewide, even though many students have not learned to read or do math properly, they are still being graduated from NM high schools.

A Mother Speaks Out

Below is a mother's experience of her 6-year-old daughter being exposed to inappropriate content at a Las Cruces public school. Instead of increasing transparency and taking parental concerns seriously, LCPS said her concerns didn't matter. This is the same way they are handling the issue of age-inappropriate sexually explicit and violent books that, if rated like movies, would be rated R, NC17, or XXX.

Resources for Parents

Here are several resources for parents of children attending school in New Mexico.

Parental Opt-Out Forms

Parental Opt-Out forms are one way to slow down the damage. Here are 3 template letter options that parents can use to put schools on notice about the Supreme Court's decision that schools cannot hide gender transition from parents:

Here are 2 opt-out form options for parents who want to opt out their children from LGBTQ+ themed lessons at school.

Homeschooling Resources

Many parents statewide are choosing to pull their kids out of public school to home school instead.  We have information on legal requirements, local homeschooling groups across the state, and getting started with homeschooling here:

Legal Action

We are looking into legal options to challenge the indoctrination of children in NM schools, including districts that are hiding gender confusion from parents.

We are looking for parents of children attending public schools in NM, who are concerned about this issue. Parents should please email Sarah Smith at concernedfornm@gmail.com

Please SHARE to empower parents to protect their children!

The Governor and all members of the NM House of Representatives will be on the ballot statewide this year.  That means we have a chance to change the trajectory of NM this year!
