Why the CDC and Federal Government Changed the Vaccine Recommendations
Several months ago, the CDC changed it's recommendations to no longer recommend the Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Meningococcal vaccines for all children, but instead only recommend them for high-risk children.
Recently, the Trump Administration re-affirmed these changes to vaccination guidance in the Executive Order, "Delivering Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations for Americans" which was released on August 10, 2026.
The updated CDC childhood immunization schedule:
Recommends all vaccines for which there is consensus among peer nations.
Allows for more flexibility and choice, with less coercion, by reassigning non-consensus vaccines to certain high-risk groups or populations and shared clinical decision-making.
Ensures that all the diseases covered by the previous immunization schedule will still be available to anyone who wants them.
New Executive Order Protects Parents' Rights to Make Vaccinations Decisions for Their Children
Importantly, the recent Executive Order includes protections for parental rights with regards to childhood vaccinations.

This is good news, as it puts New Mexico and other states on notice that, if they do not allow religious and medical exemptions from vaccination, there will be legal challenges in order to re-assert these parental rights.

NM DOH Requiring 3 Vaccines That are No Longer Recommended
Under Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, the NM Department of Health has stated that it will continue to mandate the following 3 childhood vaccinations that the Federal CDC no longer recommends:
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Meningococcal

Safety and Risks of the 3 Vaccines
All three of these vaccines contain aluminum, which is a POTENT NEUROTOXIN. https://physiciansforinformedconsent.org/aluminum-in-vaccines/
According to Physicians for Informed Consent:
"Small amounts of aluminum that remain in the human body have been observed to interfere with a variety of cellular and metabolic processes in the nervous system and in tissues of other parts of the body. The greatest negative effects of aluminum have been observed in the nervous system and range from motor skill impairment to encephalopathy (altered mental state, personality changes, difficulty thinking, loss of memory, seizures, coma, and more)."
Below are links to additional safety and risk information about the 3 vaccines being required by the NM Dept of Health, even though they are no longer recommended by the Federal Government or CDC.
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE which women are screened for during pregnancy, so there is NO NEED TO UNIVERSALLY GIVE THIS VACCINE TO ALL NEWBORNS.
Meningococcal
Furthermore, a study comparing long-term health outcomes found a 250% increase in chronic diseases in vaccinated children compared to unvaccinated children, with greatly increased rates of "asthma, atopic disease [allergies], eczema, autoimmune disease and neurodevelopmental disorders [such as ADHD, developmental delay, speech disorders, etc]."

How Parents Can Opt Out
By NM state law, children ARE allowed religious exemptions from required vaccinations. The forms are here:
NOTE: Some religious exemption requests have been DENIED by the NM Dept of Health. There is information about LAWYER-RECOMMENDED VERBIAGE for the form here 👇👇👇: https://www.nmfa.us/post/vaccine-exemptions-for-nm-children-1
