This event focused on the attacks on children happening in NM schools and nationally. We were glad to be part of this important event featuring national speakers alongside NM grassroots leaders. Special thanks to Ben Luna, Paul Spencer, and Ryan Penfold for producing this event!

DETRANSITIONER PANEL DISCUSSION

Educating parents and the community about the harms of transgender affirmation for minors is critical right now. NMFA sponsored a detransitioner panel discussion in Santa Fe in order to raise awareness of these issues. This event was put on by Partners for Ethical Care, a national organization dedicated to stopping the unethical "gender affirming" treatment of children.  

 

Protesters from Antifa, Democratic Socialists of America, and Rainbow Liberation ABQ tried to silence the voices of those who have been harmed by gender affirmation. Some of the protesters' tactics included:

  • threatening the hotel for weeks ahead of the event, in an attempt to get the event canceled

  • publishing a defamatory opposition piece in the Santa Fe New Mexican (NOTE that this piece contains a number of incorrect statements and Moms for Liberty was NOT involved in the event), and

  • protesting outside the hotel in Santa Fe, including attempting to aggressively intimidate event organizers.


Despite the opposition, the event was a success! There was a screening of a movie about harms of gender affirming care followed by a panel discussion with the following detransitioners:

  • Airiel Salvatore
