Dear New Mexicans, Many parents and grandparents are concerned since NM Governor Lujan Grisham and the legislature have enacted new laws that give children access to abortion and transgender care without parental consent or notification. We are continuing to work towards getting these laws on the Nov 2024 voting ballot. In the meantime, the New Mexico House Republican Campaign Committee has put together a notification document for parents. This document provides a way for parents to notify their children's school that the parents must be informed about and involved in their child's healthcare decisions.

Full instructions for using this form are on the website above. There is no guarantee that this form will absolutely ensure that parents are informed about their children's healthcare, but this is at least a good start towards showing the school that the parent needs to be involved in these decisions. NOTE: Due to these and other issues, many parents are choosing to remove their kids from public school and instead homeschool (or send their kids to private school).
