Dear New Mexicans,
NM schools have the worst academic rankings in the country, but instead of focusing on fixing that, NM schools are going off the rails. Please scroll below for info about:

How Ideological Indoctrination is Codified in NM Public Schools
Governor Lujan Grisham's Public Education Department (PED) has codified indoctrination.
Teachers are directed by the Public Education Dept to teach about gender identity, BLM, intersectionality, MeTooMovement, and more.
All of this upholds the worldview of oppressor vs oppressed which is central to Marxism and Communism.
See below for screenshots from the PED's "Instructional Scope" for NM teachers to follow.

You can see the full Instructional Scope documents on the PED website here (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the documents for NM high schools):

Violence and Behavior Issues Are Out of Control in NM Schools
We've been ringing the alarm bell 🚨🚨🚨 about violence in NM schools for several years. In our Open Letter to the NM PED on behalf of several hundred NM teachers back in 2024, we shared that,
"Behavior issues are rampant in New Mexico’s schools. Besides acting out in class, some students are violent to the point of threatening and assaulting teachers, beating up other students, throwing chairs in classrooms, etc. Substance abuse issues are also widespread. Students who go to school to learn have their education interrupted incessantly. Student behavior problems are also causing teacher burnout and are a huge reason why many teachers are leaving the education profession."
Now, the ultra-progressive Albq teachers union is even admitting that school violence is out of control. The Albuquerque Teachers Federation has released a 2025-26 report titled, "Are the Educators Alright?" That report includes numerous quotes from teachers including the following:
"I have permanent spinal damage from being hit with a chair."
"Behavior and aggressive students are pretty much in every class."
"There is absolutely NO DISCIPLINE."
"Students know there are no consequences."
You can read the full report here:
Even though this report is from Albq, the same issues are happening all across New Mexico.

Bad Books in Los Lunas Public Schools
With help from a statewide coalition of volunteers, we are continuing to uncover age-inappropriate sexually explicit and violent books in NM school libraries. Even conservative school districts have books that most parents would be shocked to see in school libraries.
Volunteers have now created a Parent's Guide to 30+ Explicit Books in Los Lunas Public Schools. You can download the LLPS Parent's Guide here:

3 WAYS WE CAN TAKE BACK NM SCHOOLS
Even with all of this bad news, it is important to stay hopeful. We have real opportunities to make progress in taking back NM schools this year.
1. Governor's Election
This year's Governor election is hugely important and will set the stage for the next 4 years of education in NM. If we want to see change, it is very important that candidate Deb Haaland does NOT win the Democrat governor's primary election in June, as she would be likely to make things even worse than Governor Lujan Grisham has done.
The Democrat primary election in June will probably be the most important election in the state this year. This election is so important that those who are registered as Republican may want to consider changing their registration to Decline-to-State/ Independent so they can vote in the Democrat primary on June 2.
Because of a new law passed in 2025, voters who are registered as Decline-to-State/Independent are allowed to vote in whichever primary election they choose. You can learn more about this here: https://www.sos.nm.gov/voting-and-elections/voting-faqs/semi-open-primaries/
2. Parental Opt-Out Forms
Parental Opt-Out forms are another way to slow down the damage. Here are 3 template letter options that parents can use to put schools on notice about the Supreme Court's decision that schools cannot hide gender transition from parents:
Here are 2 opt-out form options for parents who want to opt out their children from LGBTQ+ themed lessons at school.
3. Legal Action
We are looking into legal options to challenge the indoctrination of children in NM schools, including districts that are hiding gender confusion from parents.
We are looking for parents of children attending public schools in NM, who are concerned about this issue. Parents should please email Sarah Smith at concernedfornm@gmail.com

We will continue to watch closely for potential impacts to children's health and parental rights.
Please SHARE to empower parents to protect their children!
