Dear New Mexicans,

Right now, school districts all across NM are performing the annual Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey for middle schoolers and high schoolers. This survey includes invasive and suggestive questions about sexual acts, gender identity, drugs, suicide, whether there are guns in the home, and much more.

PLEASE SHARE this information with parents and grandparents in NM so they will be informed and can opt out!

YRRS Survey for NM Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers

The Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey is performed annually and is offered to every school district in NM.  There are two versions of the survey. You can download the full surveys here:

Some of the survey questions are highly invasive and/or suggestive. Questions about whether children are transgender and how many sexual partners they have are normalizing these behaviors.

Below are examples of some of the questions on the survey:

How Parents Can Opt-Out

This type of invasive survey SHOULD require an opt-in, but instead this survey is given to children unless the parents opt-out.

This survey is being given to students RIGHT NOW, so parents who want to opt-out need to do so right away.

There is an opt-out form for parents here:
