OPPOSE HB11 Paid Family Medical Leave - This is now waiting in the Senate Finance Committee. There is still a glimmer of hope that this is going to fail because the legislature's own analysts are saying this program will run into a huge deficit in just a few years. This is devastating to small businesses because any employee would be able to potentially take 3 months off work in a year and the business would have to keep their position open for the employee who is on leave. Furthermore, imagine the problems when our healthcare, law enforcement, and other vital services could end up even more short-staffed as a result of this Bill! OPPOSE HB12 Red Flag Law - This Bill removes due process and allows unqualified people to determine a gun owner is unfit to carry, leading to immediate seizure of guns. OPPOSE HB246 which would raise minimum wage to $17/hour - This will results in higher prices and/or fewer jobs. Most businesses are operating under slim profit margins, so they will either have to raise prices, fire people, or close shop.
